Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda…… Just Do It
ОглавлениеHow many times have you heard someone say, “I coulda had the chance to be a musician when I was younger and I shoulda. If I could just turn back the hands of time I woulda pursued it and made the commitment to succeed.”
So…….Just do it! There has never been a better time than today. Besides, today IS the first day of the rest of your life. In this particular case I don’t care if you are 5 years old or 80 years old, it is never too late to start anything you want to do. The hardest part (which really is quite easy) is to make that commitment that you are going to do it and then take action. From the moment you make that decision you are going to feel wonderful about yourself and you will be asking yourself, “Why didn’t I make the decision to do this a long time ago?”
Here is another great example: “I coulda just kicked myself in the butt for not listening to what my body was saying. I shoulda just disciplined myself to eat the right foods and stick to my diet. I woulda been a whole lot healthier and a whole lot happier.”
So here we go again…coulda, shoulda, woulda. My question of the Curi Osity within me asks, “So what is stopping you from doing it?” What in the heck are you waiting for? Just do it! You will definitely feel a whole lot better and be a whole lot healthier and add years to your life.
Here is another real good example: “Ya know, if only I woulda learned how to budget my expenses when I was younger and had not fallen into the quicksand of credit card debt I coulda lived a really good life. I shoulda learned to develop good listening skills when others told me to stop using the credit card without budgeting my expenses. Had I done what they said I woulda really had a great life and been able to work to live and not live to work.
Hello! You need to get your life together NOW. Just do it! I know because I fell into financial quicksand myself and if you don’t make the commitment TODAY and follow through with a plan to reach your goal of becoming debt-free you will continue sinking deeper and deeper and never have the lifestyle you want. You will be a slave to credit card companies all your life while they will be the ones going on vacation off the high interest rates you are paying when in reality it should be YOU going on vacation. You owe it to yourself to do it. Start by seeking the expertise of a financial advisor. If you can’t afford a financial advisor consult in a friend of yours who has been there before. Once you make the commitment to take action and take the first step to financial freedom you will begin to feel great about yourself.
In essence what this whole chapter on coulda, shoulda, woulda boils down to is that you are never to old to pursue your dreams of what you want to do. Find out what you want out of life. If it’s losing weight then sit down with a nutritionist, a personal trainer, or if you can’t afford that then consult in a personal friend of yours who has lost weight and chart what you have to do to reach your goals and turn your dream into a reality. Find out what was successful for them. My personal feeling is that there is no quick fix to weight loss. You have to eat the right healthy nutrition combinations of food while maintaining an active daily exercise program.
What it all boils down to is that it is never too late to set a goal to accomplish anything you realistically want to achieve in life. Here’s how you do it and I will repeat this over and over again throughout the book because it really is crucial:
Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
Set your goals realistically on where you want to be or what you want to do.
You have to make the commitment and discipline yourself that you are going to go through with what you say and not have doubts about it.
Road map the steps you are going to have to take to get there.
Discipline yourself to taking that step day-by-day to reach your destination and walk the distance. Don’t ever stop short or you never will succeed.
Be persistent and when you fall down because of obstacles along the path (and you will fall down) then get back up on your feet and keep on walking.
Remember that even though the distance is a long walk if you take a step each and every day towards your goal it is inevitable that you will reach your destination and your visions of dreams will then become a reality.
If you can agree to and adhere to all of the above steps to accomplish your goal then you are on the right track to a new you and you will feel great about yourself once you make that decision.
