LITTLE COUSINS

Table of Contents

One day the children found a mouse in the meadow.

Alice said, “I saw a mouse just now.

It is such a pretty little mouse!

I hope it will come out again.”

“It is a field mouse,” said Father.

“It lives here in the fields and meadows.

It is a cousin to the rats and mice that live in the house.

Another mouse cousin lives in the woods.

I caught one once. It had a nest in the top of a tree.

It sang something like a bird.”

Then Father told the children stories.

One story was about the mouse cousins.
