Learning Targets at the Elementary and Secondary Levels
ОглавлениеWhile revising my assessment structures to allow for more student involvement, my environment was grades 9 through 12 social studies and leadership classes at a public high school. As I gained experience and confidence in changing my practice, I saw similar shifts occurring with colleagues teaching math, chemistry, PE, English, and other courses at the middle and high school levels. I've had the opportunity to share this journey with educators all over the world, but some of those visits have included difficult conversations. An experienced elementary teacher recently looked at my Paris Peace Conference unit plan and commented, "Your examples look really 'high school'—you should spend some time with elementary kids." I took up the teacher's suggestion and decided to design a more user-friendly template for younger students.
