Kari Straube, a grade 11 and 12 English teacher, attended one of my professional development sessions and was inspired to involve her students in the sharing and construction of learning targets. Shortly after the session, she sent me her version of a student-centered unit plan for the study of Beowulf (Figure 2.7).
