very important number, 70 (430-360=70); its significance and relationship with 390 and 40 will astound you and the book of Genesis is our starting point.

In the first chapter of Genesis God repeatedly states: the evening and the morning completed one day which gives a total of seven days. He identified each day numerically unlike the pagan names such as Saturday, Sunday Monday etc., which came much later; this same principle applies also to the naming of the months. The next important thing to note is that the moon is God’s clock and faithful witness of dividing time and seasons, and He alone has the authority to establish its accuracy, in that, He does not have to either add or subtract a day from His calendar to balance it. Genesis 1:14 states: And GOD said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: and again in Psalm 89:30-37, God makes a covenant with the house of David: If his children forsake My Law, and walk not in My judgments; if they break My statutes, and keep not My commandments; then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquities with stripes. Nevertheless My lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer My faithfulness to fail. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips. Once have I sworn by My holiness that I will not lie unto David. His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me. It shall be established forever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah and 104:19: He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

The Hebrew word for “season” is moed or moadah, some of its interpretations include gathering, appointment and signal; a determined time or place; it can also mean a congregation.
