that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations. And I will bring upon that land all My words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations, (for further references, see also Jeremiah 29:8-15; Ezra 1:1; 2 Chronicles 36;21,22; Daniel 9:2). Israel’s rebellion and Judah’s chastisement for unbelief was finally being addressed. We will examine another revelation that will explain the reason behind Ezekiel’s instructions to lay on his left side first and then on his right. What appears as foolishness at first glance Holy Spirit removes the veil revealing divine truths.
On examination of the human anatomy, it was observed that the most important organ located in the thoracic cavity, with its apex extending a little to the left is the heart. Synonymously references to the heart allude to the center of the emotions and our capacity for good or evil. The heart can be spoken of as being good, broken or callous. Some other references to the heart are: loyalty, love and devotion. Jeremiah 17:9-10 states: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. The ever loving Father looks upon Israel and weeps over them because they have rejected Him. For three hundred and ninety years, the LORD sends His prophets to warn Israel, but their rebellious heart became even more callous; instead of giving them exactly what they truly deserve, as a good Father and Israel’s Righteous Judge, He reduces their sentence to three hundred and ninety days. It is said that justice is blind, but in this case justice is mercy and grace. Psalm 107:8-12 states: Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.
