dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.”
Man’s resting in the LORD was procured by Yeshua so that he could be welcomed back into the family of God. The first measurement made by the Lord was a hundred cubits eastward; this is a picture of Yeshua’s freewill offering to all mankind to come and rest in Him forever. Yeshua proceeds to measure northward, therefore making this rest available to all mankind as a voluntary act. The prophet Isaiah wrote: “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.” And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruin cities, the desolations of many generations. Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the foreigner shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, they shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory you shall boast“(61:1-6 NKJV, see also Isaiah 42:7; Luke 4:18-21). Yeshua makes no mistake with His measurements as Hebrews 12:2 applying the NET states: “Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.” Here Yeshua set forth the measurement being the Jubilee for our atonement, giving unto us that which our works alone could not have obtained. Yeshua is our High Priest and honors man as the royal priesthood of God.
The Lord our Messiah continues His measurement of the coming new man: a holy temple unto God. In Ezekiel 40:20-21, it is recorded that Yeshua measures the gate of the outer court northward that included its chambers, posts and arches and these were all identical. The gate was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide; the same measurement documented in Ezekiel 40:13 and 15 which shows man coming up to the same measurements
