FIFTIES
ОглавлениеThe skin is now very different to that of younger years, having more lines and wrinkles as well as deeper furrows around the mouth. The skin sags in places and lack of muscle tone makes the skin appear drawn. The skin is usually dryer at this age but with the onset of the menopause and the subsequent hormonal changes, adult acne can sometimes occur due to the increase in fluctuating hormones, and appears just as in teenage acne with the skin becoming excessively oily and spotty. Skin can become uneven so along with a good regular facial routine and treatments from the therapist, exfoliate regularly to help regulate the surface texture. Broken capillaries and age spots should be expected but be sure to sun protect as ever to help prevent further dermis damage.
Anti-ageing creams and lotions are mostly used in this stage of life but a healthy diet and regular exercise are essential to keep the skin healthy and young looking.
Above all skincare should be fun and not an obsession. Remember that stress is a major ager so staying healthy on the inside and out and stress-free in the shade is the best way forward!
