Since Frank Oppenheimer opened

the Exploratorium in 1969, we’ve

been an interactive learning

lab—a hands-on, playful place

to discover and to tinker—and our

thought-provoking exhibits and

programs have ignited curiosity

and delighted visitors far and

wide. At our home at Pier 15 on

San Francisco’s Embarcadero,

we host more than 600 exhibits,

where visitors can dance with

their shadows; build art-making

machines; play with magnets,

pendulums, and pulleys; and

watch the ever-shifting sands

and tides of the bay. Come and
