½ cup mayonnaise
Grated zest and juice of
1 lemon
1 clove garlic, minced
Pinch of kosher salt
1 baguette, split
¼ lb provolone cheese
½ lb thinly sliced ham
½ lb thinly sliced salami

1 cup shredded lettuce
2 Roma tomatoes, sliced

cup sliced peperoncini
1 red bell pepper, seeded
and sliced
Makes 6 small sandwiches
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon zest and juice,
garlic, and salt. Slather the aioli on the cut sides of the baguette. On
the bottom half, layer the cheese and meats, followed by the lettuce,
tomatoes, peperoncini, and red bell pepper. Cover with the top half and cut
into 6 sections.
Wrap each sandwich section in aluminum foil or arrange in an airtight
container and close tightly. Refrigerate until ready to go, then pack in
an insulated lunch cooler.
Dive into a classic submarine sandwich. Mix and match the ingredients—pile
