Dedication

Donnie would like to dedicate this volume to the one who opened her heart and gave him a second chance at life: a chance to be something he didn’t know how to be… a man of godly integrity. Donnie would like to dedicate this second writing of his spiritual walk through life to his beautiful wife, Kelly, and his amazing five kids, Gabriel, Jasmine, Tara, Cameron, and Shana.

As a partner in prayer, worship, and study of God’s Word, Kelly faithfully stood by Donnie every step of the way and together they learned how to pray, to seek, to knock — how to become new followers in Christ Jesus. Together, they learned how to become sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit; how to put God first. They became versed in recognizing what was of the Lord and what was not. They also became conscious of those influences that turned their heads and hearts away from the Lord…the taunting from the enemy with lies. With Kelly’s help and patience, Donnie learned what it meant to be a dedicated and devoted husband and dad; how to love his children and his wife.

Donnie says, “By the mercies and grace of God, it is my desire to break the generational chain of curses resulting in abusive behavior, addictions, and dependency on all the wrong things I thought would give me peace or satisfaction. That was my life’s misery. Today it is my ministry to be a voice for God and an instrument of hope!

“Becoming a role model for my family has become one of my biggest challenges. Once free from the bondage of my enslavement chains, my family has been the earthly draw toward the finish line of this earthly race. My first and only goal is to run this race first, for the glory of God and to be the man God has called me to be; a new man in Christ Jesus, my Deliverer, my Savior, and my God. Kelly and our kids encourage me every day to keep on keeping on. They are quick to forgive me when I stumble over situations I don’t understand. We are all learning together.
