If you already own, or have owned, a dog of a particular breed, you may decide to choose that same breed again.

On the other hand, you may have owned a cross-breed or mongrel, and want to try a pure-bred dog. In that case, remember that breeds come in many different shapes, sizes and temperaments, and choosing one to suit you requires careful consideration.
