Оглавление

The large-scale cultivation of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) has been able to drastically transform tropical landscapes and livelihoods in recent decades (Rival and Levang, 2014). This outstanding crop produces very high oil yields and shows an amazing agronomic plasticity; these are valuable assets in the context of climate change and ecological intensification. The sustainable development of oil palm cultivation is generating several questions to research, not only in the traditional domains of plant science, including breeding and biotechnologies (Rival and Jaligot, 2010; Rival and Durand-Gasselin, 2013), but also in the fields of socio-economics and social and human sciences (Rival, 2013; Rival and Levang, 2014; Sodano et al., 2018).
