Introduction
ОглавлениеMovement disorders are common and increasing in prevalence with the aging population. Clinical features and course vary immensely among different movement disorders. The study of their natural history has been complicated by diagnostic ambiguities, variation in study populations, methodological differences, and heterogeneity within each disorder. Despite these challenges, remarkable progress in movement disorders research has provided great insights into their epidemiology, disease mechanisms, and prognosis. Although no disease modifying treatment has been identified, great strides have been made in the development of symptomatic therapies, both medical and surgical.
