Electrostimulation to Select Cases for Laryngeal Pacing
ОглавлениеThe introduction of selective laryngeal stimulation systems (laryngeal pacing) will create new indications for LEMG [19]. Selective pacing only works if the intramuscular neurostimulation of the PCA evokes a selective abductor movement without co-stimulating the adductor muscles. Therefore, before implanting a laryngeal stimulation system, a screening with electrostimulation of the PCA has to be performed to select suitable patients. Continuous electric stimulation of 1.5 mA at 3 Hz was used to localize a so-called hot spot in the PCA that if electrically stimulated induced vocal fold abduction [20].
