C Recurrent laryngeal nerve neuropathy

 Occurs primarily on the left side.

 Is relatively common in larger breed horses.

 Results in an inability to fully abduct the arytenoid cartilages.

 Cases of recurrent laryngeal neuropathy generally do not exhibit signs of airway embarrassment at rest.
