Stencils

As shown on the previous page, you can

create beautiful artwork by dabbing stencils

with different kinds of ink. The versatility of

stencils makes them a great option for Bible

journaling. If a stencil is too large to fit in the

available space, you can often use part of

the image and still get a great result. You can

also mix and match designs from different

stencils to illustrate a particular concept.

Applying a stencil is

as simple as holding

or taping the stencil

in place as you

dab with ink.

These sun and tree images

were created by applying

Ranger Tim Holtz Distress ink

with an applicator through

one of Joanne’s Inspired

Journaling stencil designs

for The Crafter’s Workshop.

Distress inks are dye based

and blend well, but tend to

bleed through the paper, so

use light pressure to apply

or prep the page.

Helpful

Hint!

After use, wipe off both

sides of your stencil with a

damp paper towel to ensure

you don’t unintentionally

smear ink onto your next

stencil project.
