Когда использовать Present Simple:

Регулярные действия и привычки

Когда использовать Present Continuous:

Действия, происходящие прямо сейчас

Типичные ошибки:

Использование Present Simple вместо Continuous для действий сейчас:

Wrong: He plays football now.

Correct: He is playing football now.

Использование Continuous для привычек:

Wrong: I am reading books every evening.

Correct: I read books every evening.

Ключевые слова для Present Simple: always, usually, often, sometimes, never, every day/week.

Story

Two Days in Emma’s Life

Emma lives in a quiet town. Every morning, she wakes up at 7:00, brushes her teeth, and eats breakfast. She usually drinks tea and reads the newspaper. After breakfast, she goes to work by bus.

Today is Monday, and she is feeling energetic. At this moment, she is sitting in the park near her office, drinking coffee, and watching people. Some children are playing on the swings, and a dog is running across the grass. Emma notices that the flowers are blooming and the sun is shining brightly.

After a short break, Emma returns to her office. She usually answers emails in the morning, but today she is preparing a report for her manager. Everyone is busy, but Emma enjoys observing life outside while she works.
