2 tablespoons bentonite clay
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon citric acid
½ teaspoon glycerin
1 teaspoon raw honey
½ teaspoon activated charcoal
or matcha powder (optional)
1
/
Make your own rosewater using the recipe on page 53.
2
/
Combine the clay, baking soda, and citric acid in a
small bowl.
3
/
Stir until the ingredients are well combined.
4
/
For extra detox power, you can add the activated charcoal
or matcha powder now too, stirring again after adding.
5
/
Pour in the glycerin and honey. Stir again.
6
/
At the very last minute before you use the mask, add the
rosewater and stir quickly. It’s going to start to fizz, so you
want to work fast!
7
/
Use your fingers to apply the mask to your face and neck.
8
/
Let sit for 5 minutes, then use a warm washcloth to gently
massage the mask into skin. Rinse your face and pat dry.
Carbonated clay masks have been a huge beauty trend, of late—and you can make your
own without the cost. Instead of carbonic acid, this DIY carbonated bubble mask uses
citric acid to get the same fizzy tingle.
TIP
Not only does this
homemade bubble mask
massage skin, but it helps
remove excess oil and
tighten pores, leaving you
with a fresh, clean face.
