Phages Are Haploid
ОглавлениеPhages are, in a sense, haploid, since they usually have only one copy of each gene. As with bacteria, this property makes isolation of phage mutants relatively easy, since all mutants immediately exhibit their phenotypes without the need for backcrosses.
