Stem height

Оглавление

Start with the top of the stem about four to five centimetres (about one and a half to two inches) below the top of the saddle. This should give you comfortable access to the handlebars. As time goes by you could lower the stem by another two to three centimetres (about an inch) to help your aerodynamic position. Going lower than this improves your aerodynamics but restrains breathing and your lower back or neck might start complaining. In general, the higher your stem, the better you will climb and the lower your stem, the more aerodynamic you will be. Most riders position their stems too low and rarely take advantage of the drop position of their handlebars.
