Target Casual Plasma Glucose Levels
ОглавлениеA study that followed for 11 years 245 Japanese diabetes patients who newly started dialysis examined the relationships among predialysis blood glucose level (about 2 h after a meal), HbA1c, and survival. The results showed that survival was significantly shorter in the group with a predialysis blood glucose level of 180 mg/dL or more than in the group with a level less than 180 mg/dL [3]. In a 6-year observational study of 54,757 dialysis patients with diabetes in the United States, all-cause and cardiovascular mortality was significantly worse in the group with an average casual plasma glucose level of 200 mg/dL or more compared with the group with an average level of 150–175 mg/dL [4]. Based on these results, the recommended provisional target value for casual plasma glucose level (predialysis plasma glucose level) is less than 180–200 mg/dL [2].
