Abstract
ОглавлениеThe present investigation has as main objective to carry out an analysis of the distribution and quantification trend about the spatial distribution of the carbon storage as regulation ecosystem service, through the application of carbon capture rates, in the Otomí-Mexica Park of the State of Mexico 2014-2018. This park shows environmental deteriorations and it is necessary to establish a healthy man-nature relationship, in which society interacts dynamically with ecosystems, because they provide goods and ecosystem services.
The applied methodology in this research consists of the following stages: 1) classification and typification of the present ecosystems in the Park, and quantification of the area occupied by each ecosystem, through cartographic photointerpretation; 2) delimitation and spatial location of each type of ecosystem; 3) calculation of the index of captured carbon in each ecosystem, from the surface of each ecosystem. This allows to represent the spatial distribution trend and quantification of the carbon storage ecosystem service.
The results show that the ecosystems with the highest representation in the Park are: rainfed agriculture, fir forest and pine forest; the detailed information of each ecosystem allows a closer approach to the quantification and distribution of carbon storage in the studied area. The investigation about carbon storage represents an important contribution for the maintenance and sustainable use of ecosystems.
