Story

The big day had finally arrived. It was the day of the annual school talent show, and everyone was excited. Some students had been practicing for weeks, while others were just starting to feel nervous.

Anna was sitting backstage with her best friend, Sarah. They were both nervous but excited. Anna was going to perform a dance routine she had practiced for a month, while Sarah was going to sing a song she had written herself.

«I’m so nervous,» Anna said, adjusting her costume. «What if I mess up?»

«You won’t mess up,» Sarah reassured her. «You’ve been practicing so hard. You’ll do great!»

Anna smiled, but she still felt a little unsure. «I just hope I remember all the steps.»

Meanwhile, in the audience, the other students were eagerly waiting for the show to begin. The lights dimmed, and the principal, Mr. Roberts, walked onto the stage to introduce the first act.

«Welcome, everyone, to the annual talent show!» Mr. Roberts announced. «We have a wonderful lineup of performers today. Let’s get started!»

The first act was a group of students who performed a funny skit. They made everyone laugh with their jokes and clever lines. After that, a student named Tim played the guitar and sang a beautiful song. The audience cheered, and Tim blushed, clearly proud of his performance.

As the show went on, more and more students took the stage. Some danced, some sang, and others performed magic tricks or acted out short scenes. Everyone was so talented, and the audience clapped and cheered after every performance.

Finally, it was Anna’s turn. She stood backstage, waiting for her name to be called. «You can do this!» Sarah said, giving her a thumbs up.

When Anna’s name was announced, she took a deep breath and walked onto the stage. The music started, and Anna began her dance routine. At first, she felt a little nervous, but soon she got into the rhythm of the music. The audience watched in awe as Anna moved with confidence, her routine smooth and energetic. By the end of her performance, she was smiling, proud of herself.

The crowd erupted into applause, and Anna waved to the audience. «You did it!» Sarah cheered from the front row.

Next, it was Sarah’s turn. She stepped onto the stage, holding her guitar. «This is my song,» Sarah said, her voice shaking a little. «It’s called „Believe in Yourself.“»

She started to play, and her voice filled the auditorium. It was a beautiful song about following your dreams and never giving up. The audience listened quietly, moved by the heartfelt lyrics. When Sarah finished, there was a moment of silence, and then the audience burst into applause.

«I can’t believe we did it!» Anna said, hugging Sarah after the show.

«It was amazing,» Sarah replied, smiling. «We both did great!»

At the end of the show, Mr. Roberts thanked all the performers for their hard work and talent. «You all did an incredible job today,» he said. «Everyone should be proud of themselves.»

Anna and Sarah left the stage feeling happy and proud. They had faced their fears, done their best, and had a fantastic time. «We should definitely sign up next year,» Anna said. «Talent show or not, I’m proud of what we did!»
