Story

It was a hot summer afternoon, and the sun was shining brightly over the neighborhood. The streets were quiet, and the only sound was the chirping of birds in the trees. But suddenly, a familiar sound filled the air: the cheerful tune of the ice cream truck!

«Yay! The ice cream truck is here!» shouted Lucy, running outside with her younger brother, Ben. The ice cream truck, a colorful van with pictures of all kinds of delicious ice creams on its side, was driving slowly down the street, its bell ringing merrily.

Lucy and Ben ran towards the truck, excited to pick out their favorite treats. As they reached the truck, they saw their friend Mark already standing in line, holding his allowance money in his hand. «Hey, Lucy! Hey, Ben!» he greeted them. «I’m getting the chocolate fudge sundae today!»

«I think I’ll get the strawberry cone,» Lucy said, looking at the options on the menu. «What about you, Ben?»

Ben thought for a moment. «I want the rainbow popsicle,» he said, his eyes shining. «It looks so colorful!»

When it was their turn, Lucy and Ben stepped up to the window, where the friendly ice cream truck driver was waiting. «Hello, kids! What can I get for you today?» he asked with a smile.

Lucy smiled back. «I’ll have a strawberry cone, please.»

«And I’ll take the rainbow popsicle,» Ben added, excitedly.

The driver handed them their treats, and they both thanked him before walking over to a nearby bench to sit and enjoy their ice creams. The cool, creamy ice cream melted in the summer heat, and they laughed as they tried to eat it before it dripped all over their hands.

«This is the best part of summer,» Lucy said, taking a big bite of her strawberry cone. «What could be better than ice cream on a hot day?»

Ben nodded, his mouth full of popsicle. «It’s so yummy! I love the rainbow colors!»

Just then, another group of kids came running up to the truck, excited to buy their own ice cream. The driver waved at them, and they quickly lined up, ready to choose their treats.

Lucy looked around and smiled. «It’s great how something as simple as an ice cream truck can make everyone so happy.»

As the ice cream truck drove off down the street, Lucy and Ben finished their ice creams, feeling content and happy. It was a perfect summer day.
