For true student-centered learning to be possible, students must learn to reflect on their own data, both academic and non-academic. This includes assessment data, information about their mastery of various learning objectives, and their own soft skills acquisition. To make decisions about their learning, they have to understand where they are and where they are going. This is a journey, and the following chapters offer several ideas to help you embed those self-reflective learning opportunities into your day-to-day instruction. In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at the role of data in the design of our blended learning lessons.
