CRAB STITCH
ОглавлениеAlmost all crochet stitches are worked from right to left but there is one common exception to this rule—crab stitch. This forms a neat corded edging and it is worked from left to right. It is basically just a row of double crochet but worked backward.
Work a line of crab stitch by inserting the hook into the stitch to the right of the previous stitch, inserting it from front to back and making sure that the yarn is held above the hook and the work. Loop the yarn under the hook and draw this new loop of yarn through the stitch so that there are 2 loops on the hook. Take the yarn over the hook in the normal way and carefully pull this new loop through both the loops on the hook to complete the stitch. Continue along the edge, making each stitch in exactly the same way, to form a neat edging that consists of lots of knots that sit along the edge of the work.
