YOU HAVE TO LIE BETTER THAN THAT
ОглавлениеGalleries 4 and 8 were out for recreation and flag time. While checking ID’s of those out on the flag, I asked a group of inmate's playing cards to show me their ID’s.
An inmate stated to me that he had left his in his cell. I saw it in his hand with a color band indicating that he lived on gallery 5. He slipped it into his pocket thinking that I didn't see it. He told me he lived on gallery 4 and asked me if I wanted him to go get it.
I said, “Yes.”
As he went up to gallery 4, I had another officer come with me following the inmate. He looked surprised to see us. Thinking he was a magician, he "secretly" removed his ID from his pocket and made like he took it out of a cell on gallery 4.
He showed it to us. I told him it was the wrong color code.
He stated that he just moved up to gallery 4 the day before.
I told him to get the color code changed. I checked with the bubble officer as to his cell assignment. The officer verified that the inmate had not moved and still lived on gallery 5.
The inmate had come out of his cell when his cell mate was released for a pass. He was placed on ICR for being in an unauthorized area and misrepresentation.
As I’ve stated before, I love catching these guys lying to me. This one was particularly fun to nail with the way he played it.
