Screwdrivers

Оглавление

Screwdrivers are nearly ready-made for the job. Either Phillips or slotted will work, and I shape the tips into a simple round nose or a fingernail-shaped scraper. Screwdriver handles are too small in diameter for my hands, so I wrap them tightly with several layers of foam rubber and duct tape. With use, the imprint of my hand settles into the foam, and then I always know when the tip is horizontal by how the handle fits in my hand.

With slotted, or flat, screwdrivers, it’s best to cut the tip back at least ½" so the tip’s thickness will be at least half the shaft’s diameter to prevent vibration when cutting.
