Plane it to thickness.

Run the slab through the planer.

Once the top side is flat, the slab can be

removed from the carrier board. Once

the top is smooth, flip the board over

and flatten the bottom side.

You may need a carrier board.

If your slab needed a few passes with a

handplane to take down the high spots,

apply double-sided adhesive over the areas

that were planed. Then attach the slab

to a carrier board that will allow it to run

through the planer.
