1-in. wide and cut to
the width of your slab
The board I used for this design came from a walnut tree at my
childhood home in northwest Ohio. My stepfather cut the slab with
a chainsaw, and the wood itself has a beautiful rustic look I love.
I love the way the heartwood transitions to sapwood. And while
I removed the bark so that it wouldn’t flake off or collect bacteria
over time, I retained the look of a live edge.
