Transphobia is a term often used to describe the “fear of” or “aversion to” trans people or trans concepts. The word can also be used to describe the assumption that cisgender identities are “more natural and legitimate than those of trans people.” Additional helpful terms include “trans-antagonistic,” “trans-suspicious,” and “trans-unaware.”
