Nib shapes

Оглавление

Feather former nibs are constructed with fine ridges or grooves that can be used to create the delicate textures for birds and similar surface textures. They are available in a range of sizes, shapes, and grades of line density.

A range of shaped nibs is available to purchase for use with hot wire pyrography machines. Each nib has its own individual mark, purpose, and associated techniques. You may find a certain nib gives you exactly the texture or mark you are looking for, and you will build up your own personal tool kit of nibs with time as you develop your own style. It is possible to purchase nibs that create a specific texture or give the effect of a certain surface, such as bird feathers. Obviously, some points are made specifically for certain pyrography machines so make sure you do your research on the Internet or with a crafts supplier before you make any purchases. It’s a good idea to check what is available on a regular basis as there are often new developments or products available in the pyrography market.

Feather former nibs can be used in a structured manner, moving across a surface to create a layered pattern.
