BASIC LOOPED NIB

Оглавление

If you want to make your own wire nibs for a hot wire pyrography machine, follow these steps.

Cut a small section of pyrography wire, approximately 1 ⅛ to 2″ (30 to 50mm) long.

Fold it in half around the edge of a metal ruler. Use a pair of pliers to pinch the fold to a point.

Bend the ends back against the side of the pliers to help form the shoulders of the nib.

Shape the two ends so they are parallel and at the correct distance to fit into the metal nib holders on the pyrography pen.

Shape the end of the nib to suit your requirements. This can help to increase the working area of the nib by altering the amount of metal that will be in contact with the wood.

Fit the handmade nib into the pyrography pen and tighten the holding screws with a flat-headed screwdriver. You are ready to start burning.
