Sometimes patterns call for you to switch from one colored yarn to another using a color change. For example, a pattern might say, “Change to B, cut A” to indicate changing from the main color yarn to the accent color.

Work stitch as normal until final yarn over (Fig. 10). Instead of finishing the stitch with the previous color, make the final yarn over with the new colored yarn. In this case, the last yarn over in a double crochet is made using a new colored yarn.

Continue working in new color yarn (Fig. 11). Only cut the previous colored yarn if specified.
