This easy technique allows you to create an adjustable loop to start circular projects without there being a big hole in the middle.

Start by making a large loop with the yarn. Holding the loop with your fingers, insert hook into loop and pull working yarn through loop (Fig. 12).

Continue to work indicated number of stitches into loop. Pull on yarn tail tight to close loop (Fig. 13).
