FIND YOUR MOTIVATION
ОглавлениеMotivation is what drives your weight loss. It’s the powerhouse of effective long-lasting weight loss; without it, you are doomed. It’s all very well having an eating plan and an exercise regime in place, and you telling yourself that you have to do it, but without motivation it’s likely you will fall at the first hurdle. In this chapter, I will offer you a range of practical strategies to help ensure your motivation remains high at all times. The vast majority of people start their weight-loss journey with motivation brimming over the top, only to find after a couple of weeks that it has all dried up. That’s why it’s essential you have in your weight-loss cupboard a number of tools that will help ensure your motivation has the legs to stay the distance with you.
There are two types of motivation. First, you have ‘pull’ style motivation. In other words, this style of motivation is the things you are pulled towards, such as seeing yourself slip into that new dress, or being able to play with the kids in the park. The other style of motivation is the opposite to pull, and yes, it’s called ‘push’ style motivation. This is when you are motivated by the negative consequences of being overweight, such as having health problems or getting so fat that you feel completely unattractive. The secret here is to use a combination of both pull and push styles in your weight-loss journey to motivate you into losing weight. For the best possible results, use a combination of the tools that I offer you, and use them at different times over the course of your journey.
