12. Sweet and Sour Tofu Veggie Stir Fry

Ingredients

For the Tofu

• 14 oz extra firm or firm tofu, and pressed for 15 minutes, then cubed

• 2 tsp soy sauce

• 1 tsp oil or use sesame oil

• 2 tbsp cornstarch

• 1 tsp rice flour

• 1/2 tsp garlic powder

For the Sauce

• 1 tsp oil

• 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

• 1/2 cup sliced red or white onion that sliced into 3/4-1 inch pieces

• 1 cup sliced red bell pepper that sliced into 3/4-1 inch pieces

• 1/2 cup sliced green bell pepper also that sliced into 3/4-1 inch pieces

• 1/2 cup chopped celery

• 3 cloves minced garlic

• 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar

• 1/4 cup maple syrup

• 1-2 tbsp sugar optional, and add if you like your sauce to be sweeter

• 2 tbsp soy sauce

• 2 tbsp ketchup

• 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1/2 cup of water

Instructions

• Add the squeezed and cubed tofu to a bowl, include the soy sauce and oil and blend well, and let it sit briefly, at that point include the corn starch, rice flour, and garlic powder, and throw well to cover. You can heat this tofu or sauté it.

• To heat, move the tofu to a material lined preparing sheet, and heat at 400 degrees F (200c) for 20-25 minutes.

• To sauté, move this tofu to a skillet over medium high heat, include 2 tsp oil, and include the tofu, and cook until fresh and brilliant on the vast majority of the edges, at that point put away.

To make the sauce

• Heat oil in a skillet or wok medium high heat. When hot, include the red pepper drops, give it a fast mix, at that point include the onion, ringer peppers, and celery, and blend well. Keep on cooking until the ringer peppers begin to get brilliant earthy colored on the edges, at that point add the garlic and blend in. at that point include the vinegar, maple syrup, sugar, soy sauce, and ketchup, and blend well. Heat to the point of boiling.

• In a little bowl, blend the cornstarch into the water and add that combination into the skillet, and heat to the point of boiling.

• Add in the prepared or seared tofu, and throw well to cover, at that point take off heat.

• Serve over rice, or cooked grains.
