4. Micrografting

Оглавление

Nava et al. (2011) micrografted in vitro-grown ‘Maradol’ hermaphrodite shoots, 0.5–5 mm long, onto in vitro germinated seedlings as horizontal or V stock cuts. In vivo grafts either as side or V grafts on 2-month-old rootstocks with in vitro-grown buds 2–4 cm long have also been successful.

Mumo et al. (2014) used shoot tips c.1 cm long from 3-month-old seedlings of three selected Kenyan papaya lines. Shoot tips were cultured in vitro until they were c.2 cm. Shoot tips, 1 cm long, were then excised and micrografted onto rootstocks of the same genotype. After 28 days, two of the selections exhibited the highest grafting success rates, 75% and 80%, and grafts of scions onto different genotypes were less successful.
