Abstract: In this paper I will discuss a few relevant things about the critical views on Speech Act Theory (SAT). First we will follow two main critical lines, taken as an example of the question which things are the most problematic ones from an outside perspective. It will be worked out that these things are not dangerous for SAT. In the main chapter of this article we are looking for SAT in two current issues of the journal Der Deutschunterricht. The point is if SAT can be used as a tool for analyzing data so it might be expected that this theory plays a role in these issues. But that’s not the case. However, there are good reasons to implement such a tool in an analyzing practice that might be called integrated pragmatic analysis.
