2.1.1 Jobs and responsibilities (E) Talking of Jobs
ОглавлениеHans Faulhaber (H) is interviewing Sarah Carter (S) about her job. You will find some pattern of likes and dislikes.
H: | Hello, Sarah. |
S: | Hello, Hans. |
H: | It’s very kind of you to give me some of your time. |
S: | That’s all right. What do you want me to tell you about? |
H: | Could you tell me about your job? What do you like about your job? |
S: | Well, most of all, I like sleeping late. I’m not an early bird. I like sleeping long. I don’t like getting up early in the morning. This means a lot to me. |
H: | What about your boss and your customers? |
S: | I’m self-employed. I have to do my work well in a certain timeframe, so I often work late in the evening if necessary. I‘ve always been an active type of person. |
H: | So, the late nights don’t bother you? |
S: | Well, it’s hard, but I like it. Another good thing is, I can go to the pub for a pint after work. It’s nice to meet people there to talk about jobs and hobbies. |
H: | That’s really interesting. |
S: | A pub is a good place to increase your personal network, to get in contact with business men and women. If I’m lucky, I get some orders and work for them as a freelancer for a while and get a good reputation for the next job. I think, that’s what counts. |
H: | Thank you Sarah. You really seem to enjoy your work. |
S: | I do. [13] |
