2.1.4 Talking money, numbers, telephone numbers (E)
ОглавлениеNumbers are important for business and are often expressed differently in English to the way they are expressed in German. Please read/write the following numbers:
Two hundred and thirty-four million, five hundred and seven-eight thousand, nine hundred and thirteen, point, oh, six = 234,578,913.06. Write commas instead of full stops. A decimal point separates whole numbers from decimals. Say each number after the decimal point separately.
Telephone numbers are said separately too: Oh Oh four nine, six one five two, nine seven oh eight three three means 0049-6152-97083. We also say zero instead of oh, double oh instead of oh oh. [1]
Figure 2.1.4: Talking of money, numbers, time and date often needs repetition of figures to avoid problems.
