God created you to want and need connections with others. There is a reason you got married. And if you are engaged, there is a reason you want to get married. You want to form a connection with someone. You want to share your life with another person, loving and caring for them. You also want that person to love and care for you. We all want to love and be loved. God made you this way. God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18 NIV). God’s plan is for each of us to do life with other people. You start out in life getting these connections from your family. Then you form friendships with others in the neighborhood or at school. Later, you fall in love with someone and want to be with that person for the rest of your life. God wants you to have good quality connections with others and he also wants to see your marriage succeed. He is with you and for you. He will give you the strength, creative ideas and wisdom to have a strong connection that will result in a great marriage.
