Was buying TSR's assets an easy decision? Were there many people in the company who were against it? What was the ultimate factor in going forward with the acquisition?

I think it was an easy decision for Peter Adkison. As soon as he knew the door was open, he walked through it. There was little debate (from what I am told) about doing the deal inside Wizards. There was a lot of debate about the price, and about the mechanics of the merger and the post-merger operating plan, but I don't think any of Wizards’ key leaders ever questioned the value of combining the businesses. Even beyond the business value, the personal satisfaction from owning and publishing „Dungeons & Dragons“ was justification enough in their minds to do the deal.
