its Hebrew rendering is Atam [331]. Atam also expresses an action of closing the lips or plugging the ears, which is the most appropriate rendering. With humility there is a degree of silence, this is not stupidity but an act of unselfish restraint. Proverbs 17:27-28 explains this quite well: “A truly wise person uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered. Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouth shut, they seem intelligent“(NLT). The new man in Yeshua will not usurp his brother but takes pleasure in the cohesive service and worship of the Lord his GOD in this new spiritual temple.

So far we see knowledge appearing restrained symbolically by the act of closing the lips or plugging the ears. Windows are mentioned in its plural form in Ezekiel 40:16; its Hebraic root is Challown [2474], which may be defined as that which is perforated or pierced. Piercing comes with pain, it points to sanctification and regeneration. Piercing is therefore necessary to transform the new man from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. With these piercing small holes are created that allows light to shine through much the same as windows. Light is that which sustains life and Yeshua who is the light of the world is also the light of this temple! These are His words about Himself recorded in John 8:12: “… I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”: and of His followers He said in Matthew 5:14, 16: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. . . . Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Sanctification and regeneration are the prerequisites for revelation and with this type of revelation the knowledge of the glory of God is understood through the working of Holy Spirit within. Knowledge is sometimes referred to as enlightenment or one might use the phrase “all of a sudden it was like a light bulb went on.” This imagery is used to describe a revelation. However, the knowledge of the new man in Yeshua Jesus takes the form of a download into his soul by the all-knowing God and therefore man cannot credit any revelation or enlightenment as his own. Remember the words of Yeshua to His disciples in Mathew 5:14: “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.” For this reason Yeshua took Ezekiel and showed him the city of Jerusalem a figure of the coming elevation of man in
