Echocardiography, including cardiac hypertrophy examinations and two-dimensional and M-mode echocardiography, was performed. All examinations were performed on a non-dialysis day with the patient in the left lateral position, and all echocardiography data were evaluated according to the guidelines of the American Society of Echocardiography [7]. LA, ventricular size, intraventricular septal thickness, posterior LV wall thickness, and LV mass were recorded [8]. LV mass was corrected by body surface area and expressed as LVMI [9]. Severity of LVH was assessed by LVMI.
