The Natives accused an inmate of informing an officer of the location of twelve gallons of fire water that they were brewing. The inmate informed an officer of this. He said, “I would like it if you could put the word out that I did not snitch them out. I would hate to have to kill someone over it.”

If he were to kill one Native, he would have to kill them all. I don’t think he would last long.
