Three groups of Greek New Testament text manuscripts may be distinguished on the basis of their textual quality, designation, and frequency of citation in the apparatus: a) consistently cited witnesses, b) frequently cited manuscripts, and c) occasionally cited manuscripts. Manuscripts of the first two groups are listed below; while occasionally cited manuscripts are listed only in Appendix I.
