thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee as ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.”

The LORD judged the prince of Tyrus, now He turns His focus upon the King of Tyrus, a spiritual being that governs the realm of the second heaven. He is known by some of these names and titles: the dragon, the old serpent, the devil, Satan and Lucifer. In this rebuke, the LORD’S closing argument examined the past, present and future of this spiritual being here called the King of Tyrus. The actions of the earthly leader or prince of Tyrus were directly influenced by this spiritual entity: like father like son, so to speak. In Ezekiel 28:14, the identity of the king is revealed to be the once anointed Cherub. He is described as being created, therefore he has no authority of his own. His authority is obtained from two sources: the LORD God his Creator whom he rebelled against, and mankind whom he continues to deceive by manipulation, infiltration, occupation and finally domination. Satan’s warfare is against the soul of man and if this area of our tripartite being is not controlled by Holy Spirit, it becomes the playground of our adversary, which is this fallen one who wants humans to share in his final destruction.

There is no love in hell and those who have been deceived by the devil fail to realize that he is the author of lies (John 8:44). In reality, Satan truly hates mankind because of the uniqueness of our creation, and here is the proof. Genesis 1:26 and 3:14 states: “Then God said, “Let US make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth” . . .
