Round inflatable sander
ОглавлениеThis innovative tool, referred to as “inflatable ball sander” in some projects, inflates with a small pump. It is the tool of choice for contouring the inside of bowls, especially those with flutes or petals, and is easiest to use when chucked into a drill press. Originally available only in a 2” (51mm) size, it now comes in a ¾” (19mm) version, invaluable for sanding tight areas that cannot be accessed by the larger sander. Additionally, the slits at the bottom of the small sander are more resistant to snagging than those of the larger one. Although fairly expensive, you’ll find the investment worthwhile if you enjoy making bowls. Sleeves that slip over the units are available in different grits, from coarse to extra fine.
